After a two-year research project consumer advocates Joanna Atzori, Robyn Smith and Melanie Law, are calling for improvements to the information, resources and surgical options discussed at the time of mastectomy for cancer or preventative reasons.
Despite finding that almost all women who chose not to have breast reconstruction following mastectomy are happy with their decision, …“the focus groups and research data revealed examples of atrocious treatment of women, including patients whose surgeons demanded a psychological assessment before they agreed to operate…”

FlatWear Clothing is Camden Famous
Launching in Spring 2025, FlatWear Clothing is a passion project from Becky Johnson and Tracy Friden, designed to support women who choose flat closure after a mastectomy. After Becky’s own cancer diagnosis in 2019 and subsequent decision to go flat, she struggled to find clothes that fit. “Most women’s clothes are designed for curves,” she says. Finding nothing for women like herself was the spark for FlatWear.
